End of Regular Season

Congrats to the Captain Jack McFaul, Ass. Caps Kevin Kofoed, Rick Houston and the Wings team for winning the season championship.  After sitting in 2nd place for most of the second half of the season, the Wings put together some timely wins to overtake a very talented Rangers team.  Is the first-place curse, still a thing…..lol.

Congrats to all teams for finishing off a competitive, yet friendly and fairly safe season.  We are definitely trending in the right direction for the division with regards to safe and friendly play.  Thank you and keep up the good work, dudes!!

After a tight division standings for most of the year, the top 4 teams pulled away and currently sit with 7 points separating 1st from 4thwith 1 game to go.  That said, do not count out the Leafs and Hawks, as most championship games are played with a team that finished last place….

As we are at the end of the regular season, I want to firstly thank my co-convenors Matt Paget and David Schwarz for all their hard work in helping me keep the White Division, the best BOHC division to play in. It has been a very busy year for me outside of the BOHC and Matt has jumped in to assist time and time again, being an ear, helping me with blogs, convenor reports and messaging out to teams and division.  What can I say about David, who dedication and hard BOHC volunteering work has raised a record amount of poolie money for the club and will push $5,000 raised when the season ends.  Whenever you see David at the club, make sure he’s not paying for his drinks as his hard work will help keep our registration fees very low! I cannot thank you enough for all your help this year dudes!!

The round robin is days away, and although winning is fun, this is a reminder that we are playing for a T-shirt, so please keep the same BOHC spirit in mind, our games safe, fun and injury free due to overaggressive play.  Continue to treat all members, refs and city rink staff with respect as we finish up the season.

Please let your Caps know ASAP if you will miss any round robin games as there is a timely process to finding a poolie to replace players and tendies during the round robin.

A Captain, Ass. Cap and Convenor Rating meeting is scheduled for March 19.  The player ratings will help set up the divisional draft(s) in June.

Our divisional Awards Night with free banquet dues to selling all our individual tickets, hosted by the tournament committee is booked for Wednesday April 9, doors opening at 6:30pm.  We will plan for a 50/50 draw with half the proceeds going to the Carpenter Hospice.  Please come hungry and with some extra cash for the draw.

Thanks again for a great year and good luck to all the teams in the round robin.

Matt, David and Paddy
