It's that time of year...pack away your Speedo and unpack your smelly hockey gear...BOHC 2022-23 is about to begin.
Welcome back to our returning Red division players, and an even bigger welcome to newcomers to the division. We're glad to have you onboard, and part of the best men's league in Canada.
And a big thanks to our captains for volunteering their time to keep us organized and having fun: Martin Breton (Canadiens), Tim Fisher (Wings). Tom Moore (Rangers), Todd Hicks (Hawks), Todd Schultz (Bruins), and Mark Mallett (Leafs).

Help Your Team & Help Our Pool Convenor
When you know can't make it for an upcoming game, tell your captain immediately so that he can contact our Pool Convenor Rob Allan. Don't leave it till the day before. Rob has generously volunteered to be the pool overlord, but he has a full-time job and can't drop everything to find you a pool player at the last minute. Help your team and help Rob by giving as much notice as you possibly can.
Breaking News -- Refs Are Just Like Us!
Like us, the refs in BOHC are not going to be going to the NHL. We're going to miss passes...they're going to miss calls. But they're not going to scream in your face when you miss that pass, so likewise, you don't get to scream in their face when they miss that call. Refs are part of the club, just like us. They want to have fun when they go to the rink, just like us. Let's treat them with the same respect and camaraderie that we have for our teammates.
Play The BOHC Way
If you like hacking, elbowing, spearing, tripping, and fighting, there are lots of local men's leagues that have plenty of that stuff...but not this one. When a guy acts like a jaskass on the ice, we often hear "...but he's a great guy off the ice." Then he needs to smarten up and be a great guy on the ice too. 99% of our players play the BOHC way...don't be the 1%-er.
Support Your Local Bartender
When I tell my buddies who don't play in the BOHC about our league, they are in awe. 48 teams, 50 games a year, over 1,000 members...and our own bar!! Hector's is a big part of what makes BOHC great. But it needs your support to survive. It needs all of us to make the choice to tip a pint there, rather than a bar down the street. The beer is cheaper, the TVs are closer, and chicks at bars stopped talking to you a long time ago.
