Mid Season Update
We are now 30 games into the 23/24 schedule and we have kept on ice incidents to a minimum and shown great respect for our fellow players, refs and time keepers. Thanks to all Red division players and poolies for keeping the spirit of the BOHC top of mind. Congrats to the Wings for staying in top spot so far but watch for the curse of first. It's good to see that most games are competitive and any team has a chance to win. Keep an eye on the schedule as the playoffs and championship game will soon be posted. As I said earlier in the season be sure to block off the first few weeks of April for these games.
We had a big moment in a game late January when Mike Halstead had the opportunity to play with his son Brett (Red Poolie) making the very rare Gordie Howe moment. Brett, welcome to BOHC and don't give your dad too many tips, LOL.
Pool Update - We now have an active pool list of 42 skaters and 3 goalies and our division continues to add new players regularly. We do have a need in the league for more goalies and the best source of finding new members is our current active players. If you know of any goalies who would like to join the best Oldtimers hockey league in Canada put the word out.
Safety - Your captain would have recently given out safety bag tags that you can secure to your hockey bag. The purpose of this is to help you and your preferred medical contact be informed as quickly as possible should you need medical help. You can fill out this tag with your home contacts and other essential medical information should we need to get in touch with your family member for any reason. If ever it is needed your team mates can help you out if this tag is completed and available on your hockey bag.
Keep your stick on the ice,
Paul, Steve and Rob
