After laying in the weeds for 45 games, the Black Hawks came to play for the 2022-23 playoffs, finishing with a 5-1-0 record and winning the Red Division title. The Hawks beat the Canadiens 6-3 in a hard-fought final game. The final score is not entirely indicative of how close the game was. The Canadiens jumped out to a fast 2-0 lead, which held up through the first period. But in the second period, the Hawks roared back, scoring six goals and pulling away from the Habs. Congratulations to both teams and Captains Todd Hicks of the Hawks, and Martin Breton of the Canadiens. Player of the Game was Hawks forward J.D. Pettit, who notched three points in helping to power the Hawks's comeback.

Just to rub it in, the Hawks are also the winners of the league-wide "Horserace" pool, and will pocket $192.
Thanks to all players, Captains, referees, and timekeepers for a great season. A lot of fun, a lot of laughs, and a minimal amount of exercise. Hope to see everyone at the year-end banquet on Saturday, April 22nd at 6:00 pm at Hectors.
Don't forget -- registration for Winter 2023-23 is now open until April 30th. If you don't register by then, you'll lose your seniority for next season and might miss out on full-time play. Registration on-line is fast and easy -- takes 2 minutes. Do it now!
Have a great summer guys, and see you next year.
