The Invitational tournament is run by BOHC every year. Teams join us from St. Catharines, Durham, Windsor and many are from the GTA. Each year we ask the teams to sell their allotment of prize table tickets to contribute to paying the tournament expenses. The prize table includes Smart TVs, memorabilia, gift cards and many products donated by our league sponsors and players.
Two players from each team in the BOHC have volunteered to do various jobs during the tournament. As most of the guys in our GOLD Division are our older members, out of a traditional respect, they are not scheduled for volunteer duties. That being said, we do have a few hours on Saturday where we could use a hand maintaining the tables in the auditorium. INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT Feb 19-23.
This year we will honour JR with our gold division name and have invited JR’s wife Karen to drop the puck at the opening game on Wednesday, Feb 19 at 6pm.
John spent many years involved in the Burlington Oldtimers, both softball and hockey to even serving on the board. For 25 years, he joined his buddies each week for breakfast and Friday’s at the club - joking and reminiscing of baseball and hockey. Each team has four D and three forward lines. You can check out the tourney rules, schedule, etc on the BOHC website under “ Tournament”. Scot Cameron will be providing us with jerseys only, no socks. Please make sure all jerseys are returned after the tourney.
