New Season Set To Begin

Well boys, hopefully everyone had a great summer and is ready to lace ’em up, stretch out those aging hammies, and pretend we’re still 25!

Sweater Night is Wednesday September 16th at 6:30 PM. There’s plenty of parking behind Hector’s, so there’s no excuse for showing up late—unless, of course, you’re blaming traffic, your wife, or a bad knee.

Our first games are September 18th, with all six teams getting their season underway by the 19th. Time to dust off the equipment, find your lucky jock, and start telling everyone how good you were last season!

With all the player movement around the league, we have a number of new faces joining the division. Welcome, boys! You’ve joined one of the best divisions in the BOHC—and possibly the division with the highest ratio of sore backs to goals scored.

A few reminders before we get rolling:

Respect the refs. They’re going to miss a call or two. We all miss things—passes, open nets, defensive assignments and occasionally the puck completely. Give the refs a break and keep the chirping within reason.

Watch the language around the timekeepers. They’re doing us a favour by keeping track of the clock while the rest of us try to remember what shift we’re on. They deserve our respect too.

And finally, support the club! After your game, head back to Hector’s, grab a beverage, and enjoy some quality post-game analysis. You know the drill: discuss the goals you scored, the goals you almost scored, the assists you should have gotten, and the reasons it definitely wasn’t your fault.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the ice.

Stay healthy, keep the sticks down, and remember: the older we get, the better we once were!

See you at Hector’s and on the ice!
