Volunteers Needed Sat Oct 27th and Sun Oct 28th

02/10/2018 Tuesday

Can you believe that the Rogers Hometown Hockey event is just around the corner on October 27th and 28th?    Ann and I are leading the volunteer coordination and wanted to reach out to your organization to encourage you to get involved with the event.

There are a couple of volunteer opportunities that may interest you, your coaches, parents and participants:

  1. We are seeking 16-18 volunteers to assist with some of the activations during the weekend. Find attached the Volunteer Descriptions, as well as the two day schedule to show the shift times. Please note that the ‘Volunteer Description’ document outlines volunteer positions that are available on-site. Volunteers scheduled for morning or afternoon activation shifts must be able to work both Saturday and Sunday to ensure consistency for activations.
  2. We are looking for up to 50 volunteers from October 27th and 28th to assist with promotion of zero waste for the Rogers Hometown Hockey event.   Volunteers will be sorting material properly into recycling, garbage or compost. Volunteers, who can be as young as 14 years old, will work a 2.5 hr shift and can work multiple shifts if interested.

We have a tight timeline, so if you do have interested volunteers please encourage them to contact us, as early as possible, via sports@burlington.ca and we will take it from there. We will need their name and contact information (phone number and email address).

In addition, if there is someone that is really excited about one position in particular, please make sure they list that position beside their name.

We thank all your league members in advance for considering volunteering their time! The event wouldn’t be what it is without the members in the community that volunteer their time to help us celebrate our national game!
